Christmas grocery delivery

Hi,
I've searched for the answer to this to no avail.
Do i have any chance at all of getting a delivery slot for groceries on the 23rd December?
I've read that some of the supermarkets give the slots to regular customers only, does anyone know if this is true?
I have no loyalty whatsoever and will use whichever of Asda, Tesco or Sainsburys i can get the best deals for what i want. Consequently i wouldn't be considered a 'regular' shopper with any of them!
If i have a chance does anyone have any tips on how to get hold of one?
Don't fancy facing supermarket shopping when i've got family visiting.
Thanks all and Merry Christmas in advance!

they do open it to regular customers a few days before the slots go on general release
but you still stand a very good chance of getting one
i have more than one account with all 3 online supermarkets
make your order, and leave it in your basket, so its all ready to be placed
this means you can still get your normal deliveries on your other account up till then
keep an eye on the groceries board, its always posted there when they are released and you can place your christmas order soon as they are0 -
Thanks for that.
I'd searched this board but didn't even realise there was a groceries board! I'm on there now and i'll keep an eye out.
Thanks very much for the tip.0 -
Asda are awful for home delivery... just google some reviews!

I have just booked a delivery slot for Fri 23rd December at Waitrose. Items can be altered up until 12 noon the day before, so no need for an exact order just yet. HTH.[0

Funny, in our area the complete opposite is true! I just wish Asda's meat and veg were as nice as Sainsburys and then I could shop there more often, as it is I use Sainsburys who are just as good as Asda, really

I once spent hours on the phone chasing an Asda delivery (Christmas week) - finally arrived the following day more than 24 hours late. Customer service is shocking!0 -
I have thought about having a christmas delivery, but am worried about rushing about trying to get replacements if items are not available or as LJM mentioned the dreaded snow0

My worry would be the shortage of items also. People clear the shelves before Christmas - it's mad!0 -
I would place your order for 21st or 22nd to avoid having to rush around looking for the things that are out of stock ! If you order for the 23rd, you only have Xmas Eve to catch up !! Not a good idea !0
