Does anyone out there know if any of the east belfast oil suppliers would do direct debits without you having to pay so much up front to kick start it?

Thanks to numerous sources letting us down with money, we now don't have any to pay for the bulk load.

I dont think there is any that would allow this unless you actualy knew them well enough and paid all through the year, the only choices you may have are getting a loan from family, friends or Credit Union, purchase the oil stamps or buy the individual oil drums and fill it slowly.

We tried a drum once, it wasn't a nice experience, our back stank from an oil spill for ages lol Didn't know about the coupons though how do they work? I can try ringing our last supplier I think they have me on their database cheers...

I used an oil supplier for quite some time and the last time I purchased some from them they took x amount in cash and a post dated cheque from me but I think it was only due to the fact that they knew me well enough.

With the stamps you normaly purchase them from a newsagents and can buy whatever amount you require at that time until you have enough to spend with the oil supplier, a bit like a savings scheme, I know what you mean by filling them via a drum the only way round this is to make a funnel to place in the top of your tank it is a cumbersome process but at least you can put in little and often to see you through.

I think Nichol Oils and Shell did a DD scheme at one time in the North West, not sure if they still do, but Nichols and Shell deliver Northern Ireland wide. Most companies will do deliveries of 200l's upwards these days due to the economic situation, you could get 200 every month which would be similar to a DD.
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

As crazyguy suggested, try your local Credit Union for a loan. Ballyhackamore Credit Union were advertising oil loans in the East Belfast Community Telegraph, and were on TV. If you are a member, go and see them. If not, you may be able to join. They may give you a loan if you are eligible and can repay.

Emo Oil allow direct debit accounts but not sure if you need a lump sum to start you off HTH
