I'm interested but would be grateful for any tips about what kind of things are best to buy?

I would always say with ebay stick to something you have an interest in or know something about as a general rule, though after a while you do find other things you never knew about, you get good with.

I would say buying from ebay to make a profit is often more down to timing (as bad timing of sale from the sellers point of view) ie you get things cheaper when the soaps are on, friday/sat nights as alot of people out and kids summer holidays (people stick stuff on cos they have time but then forget most people take the little darlings out for the day or are not tied to the computer cos the weather is better)

Fancy dress clothes may be a good way to start (if you have kids! LOL)

Just my opinions and everyone has their own ways with it so what good for one person can change daily/or weekly with ebay!! but you can make a living (or good part time income) but be prepared for a lot of research is my best tip read the message boards, check completed listings
sorry if this doesn't help anyone! :o

My brother has had a profitable business buying and selling golf clubs. I think he finds items that have been poorly listed and when he resells them he gives all the details and makes sure they are in the right categories. Of course this is only an option if you know a lot about golf, but the principle is the same for whatever you might choose to sell.

Of course you are unlikely to get a golf club for a tenner!

Mm don't know much about golf but I quite like the idea of finding things that have been poorly listed. I'll go and have a look.
