Can you get stock pots for ceramic hobs?

I want to get a stock pot/casserole pot for my ceramic hob. They've got cheap one's in Argos for about £10 but it says they are only suitable for gas/electric hobs not ceramic/halogen.
My ordinary pans are Tefal non-stick ones suitable for ceramic hobs but the largest one isn't big enough.
What would happen if I used the Argos one, would it damage my hob?
Can anyone advise me or recommend where I can get a stock pot for my ceramic hob?

i wouldnt think it would ruin your hob although a cheap pan can get hotspots on the base which wont do it much good, also stock needs to be cooked realy slowly and with a thin based pan it can be difficult to regulate the heat and keep it just simmering, I have a couple of realy good big pans one is an expensive stella one which i got half price and the otehr i think came from sainsburies for about £20 a few years ago, I brought a cheap pasta pan a few months ago and have regretted it evcer since! you do get what you pay for!! I would try tesco or sainsburies i think as they seem to have reasonably priced decent pansMember 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

I suspect that some warnings about certain pans and ceramic hobs are there to protect the suppliers of pans and hobs. A stock pot is big and when full will be heavy - you wouldn't want to be dragging it across a ceramic hob or putting it down heavily. In fact the weight of a full stock pot might be the reason for the suppliers' caution - anyone know if ceramic hobs are susceptible to "bending" if you see what I mean.
I agree with the poster above about cheap pans potentially having hotspots - a stock pan is likely to be on the heat for long periods so should have a good thick sandwich base to conduct heat efficiently and enable you to keep the heat turned down.
But whilst I think hob and pan suppliers are over-cautious I confess that recently I needed to replace my stainless steel steamer set and rejected a cheap one from Morrisons after reading the same sort of warning on the label - cheap pans are easy to replace but the top of a ceramic hob? Well I don't want to think what that might cost?

I bought my stainless steel stockpot from tescos, it was £9.99. I have a ceramic hob and its fine. The base id quite thick. They also had tesco finest ones there, thicker bottom and were copper bottomed. Didnt say on there that you couldnt use then on ceramic hobs. they were more expensive at £19.99.
I use mine loads, no problems with either pot or hob as yet!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Loobysaver - I've just been to Asda and they have stockpots for £9. Checked the label and it says it is suitable for ceramic hobs

Thanks for you replies. I must admit to being very confused about this suitability for ceramic hobs
In the Argos book there are loads of pan sets that you aren't supposed to use on ceramic but I don't know why.
I couldn't find any info on the internet either.
I will follow all your suggestions and keep my eyes peeled for a suitable stockpot.
Thanks again0
