Loreal Hair Dye

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else had had problems with Loreal hair dye?
My Nan who is in her 70's dyes her hair every couple of months usually with a home dye.
Yesterday I dyed it for her (patch test fine) with Loreal Excellence Creme in ash blond. The coverage is perfect, it's just the colour turned out looking green/grey.
She has used this colour before and it came out beautifully last time.
Today she went to another shop to buy a replacement colour to use as she can't stand this colour. While she was there she got chatting to another woman who was in the same position as her, same dye from the same shop and the lady had the same green/grey colour to her hair.
Is it worth sending Loreal a letter to make sure there isn't a problem with the batch?
Many thanks
