A very interesting line of communication from you all! thanks! Let us all hope that when rates rise, as they will, that no-one will suffer from the profiteering of the banks.
You havent answered what you would do differently to stop your hypothetical bank going bust. Since you havent answered questions, the thread has gone off topic.
To give it another chance, I will ask you again:
tell us what you would do with raising the finance to lend on mortgages if you ran a bank?
How much would you pay savers? if savings accounts are 5% and mortgages are 1.5%, who would pay that difference?
If LIBOR is running above Base rate, how would raise capital to lend to people?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
This isn't the first stupid scheme proposed on this board, and it won't be the last. Not by a long shot.
Remember that pillock who thought the best way to get better savings rates would be an orchestrated protest where everyone withdrew all their savings at once from all banks? You know, cutting off their capital supply and making them collapse and the economy essentially dissolve?
It's like simple maths doesn't apply to these idiots.urs sinserly,
