Help! Summer clothes needed.

Just booked a late holiday to canaries and need a few strappy day dresses and skirts. Can anyone advise me where to go to buy summer clothes, all my local stores have winter fashion in (obviously).........Live within 20 miles of Leeds for larger stores but dont want to travel that far to find that no-one has a holiday shop section. Would prefer to try on rather than buy on line as Im off in 10 days time.

  • Hi there - I am in a similar situation and have been out today scouring the shops with not much luck but hit lucky at Sainsbury's of all places. They dont have much selection but go some really nice maxi dresses / strappy shorter dresses and summer cotton skirts. Lots of nice quality t-shirts too. Nothing much over £10-15 for the dresses and t-shirts at £5'ish. Also noticed a pile of bikinis too. HTH and have a great holiday.x

  • Yes, was going to say New Look, Primark, bhs, Dorothy Perkins sales still have summer stuff.
  • Not sure what shops to suggest for summer clothes as I do 95% of my clothes shopping online, but incase you haven't been to the canaries before, it can be quite windy so I'd recommend taking a few cardies or summery jackets if you feel the cold easily like me :)

    Have a good time!
  • Look at the M&S website. They have a section called "holiday shop" and you can buy holiday wear, for example beach dresses, bikinis etc. all year round.
  • Try the charity shops too!

We were there last Christmas, and I agree- take a nice dressy little cardi for going out to dinner at night time as it can get ever so slightly chilly if the wind gets up.

    Trawl Tesco and Sainsbury's sales.

Depending on your size and of course your age, Bank fashion had some nice little dresses and tops in their sale online the other day.

Thank you for all you ideas. Never thought about Tescos or Sainsbury for clothes. Went to a large Tesco not too far away and got some really nice tops and a skirt. Off to Primark in Leeds tomorrow.
