managed to get a 0% deal at last

Hi after years of trying to repair my damaged credit history I have finally managed to get a 0% balance transfer with mint, my egg card was put up to 21.9% from 15% last year and I thought I would never pay it off, I am so relieved, I haven't spend on a store card or credit card for 3 yrs now and this card I have got the limit is the same as the balance transfer from egg so I won't spend and will lower the credit limit when I make payments, this year is going to be a better year financially for me I hope, have already had a payrie and may get another in october still got £11000 to get rid of but iuts going down slowly, heres to being debt free in 2009 :j

good luck to you all

  • Well done! You must be really chuffed and it is a great sign that your credit history is picking up! It will make such a difference to paying off your debts. I got a 0% CC last august and have found it invaluable. It has saved me a fair bit in interest!

Well done. That's excellent news and proof that a little hard work does pay didvidend!

Remember to close the egg card down to reduce temptation of spending and it looks better when applying for 0% in the future
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

But what about the egg anniversary deal? Also having a long term account shouws stability :)

Hi They have never given me any anniversary deal and I have been with them since 2000. I have recieved no help whatsoever from them and putting up my interest rate up by 5% after 6 yrs with them made me mad, I called and email and begged them to change my card or reduce my balance and after 6 months I have given up and transfered the balance, I still have other cards which I owe on and I sould pay off this mint on by Nov (end of 0% deal) so I wount be changing frequently. I forgot to say thanks to Martin earlier for the best balance transfer article, as this is what helped me discover that I could finally transfer. Thanks!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Hope you cancelled the Egg account and cut up the card?! They don't deserve customers if they are treating them like this.
