Refund/exchange with no box?

Hi all,
Bought a microwave from Sainsbury's last week, and after using it a few times it appears to have a fault with the turntable. However, I have since thrown away the box and packaging. Will I be able to get a refund / excahnge at Sainsbury's, or will I have to make a warranty claim through the manufacturer (LG)?

If it is faulty I dont see why not. Just take the receipt in and ask.

Shouldn't be a problem - I'm just setting off for Tesco with a 2 month old toaster without a box. They can't expect you to hold onto a box for 12 months just in case it needs returned.

Or if you want a replacement get the new one and use that box to get a refund on the faulty one.

Just tell them the box works fine so you didn't bring it back.

If you exchange it for the same one they can take the new one out of its box and send the old one back in the new box, have done this before in Currys anyway.

Tesco took back my microwave without a box no probs, there shouldn't be any problem they will find a box themselves if they need one.
