Stocking for Dad - ideas please

Hope I'm not being stupid but I couldn't find a thread helping me to complete a stocking for my Dad.

I have done my Mums easily with lots & lots of bits but am really struggling for Dad and it looks really boring so far.... socks, boxers, smellies, chocs, book.

I always do them a stocking each to go with their main present but it gets harder every year for my Dad ( he is 60).

Please any ideas would be fab :D

Does he have any hobbies? My dad loves fishing so anything related he'd love (book, fish mug etc).

Are there any CDs or DVD he'd like?

I always get my dad some nice fresh coffee too, and perhaps some gentlemen's relish or something which he loves.

Also, my dad likes nice big spotty hankies and things (each to their own!), so perhaps something like that? Nice cufflinks, or a tie/cravat for him?
  • yes he likes cotton hankies, good one, thanks...

Grim Reaper Statue, Remind the old Boy of the passing years with a statue or poster of the grim reaper. Use this gift as a fun way to remind the honoree to enjoy the years that he has left.
Wheelchair or Cane A funny gift for a over 60's it is the tongue-in-cheek gift of a cane, walker, or wheelchair. Be sure to decorate the gift with over-the-hill streamers and a squeeze horn.

Oversized GiftsThere is no question that the eyes are among the first things to go and bad eyesight is a common occurrence among 60-year-old people. Fortunately for the gag gifter, everyday items are being made in ever larger sizes. Among the objects that come in truly monumental proportions are TV remote controls, calculators, phones, pens and pencils, cards, scissors and lighters. There are a number of websites that specifically sell these kinds of gag gifts,

Mix Tape, Find out the 60-year-old's favorite songs. Then conduct an Internet search to find new, substantially different covers of those songs. For instance, include Sid Vicious singing "My Way" instead of Sinatra or Elvis. Another example is the ska-punk version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. If you have your own band, consider recording strange new versions of old songs on your own. Be aware, of course, that many newer versions of classic songs contain offensive language, such as Sid Vicious' version of "My Way."

I have similar issues with my dad.

Not sure if its right for him but one year I did my dad glass of guiness gift (idea from here of course!). It's basically a pint glass with black socks shoeved in the bottom and then a white cotton hanky (you could use anything white though) on the top to make the head if that makes sense? I then wrapped in cello to keep it all together and he loved it.

Also bought a glasses repair kit as he seems to be constantly wrecking his! Was only a couple of pounds I think.

Oooh also a soduko book which he loved so last year I bought soduko toilet paper :)
