Yankee Candle Sets - Scented Scotland

Hey guys,

I stumbled across a good deal on yankee candle sets - ideal for xmas pressies. It's at the Scented Scotland store - they have them at Buchanan galleries, the St Enoch Centre and Silverburn in Glasgow. They also have them in another couple of stores in Airdrie and Cumbernauld.

I got a set called "My Favourite Things" which contains 3 tumbler candles with scents from the song in the musical. Mine contained warm woollen mittens, copper kettles and crisp apple strudel. They all smell delicious! There is also a second set which includes moon on their wings, blue satin sashes and raindrops on roses. Such a great idea I thought!

I managed to pick up one of these sets with about £8 off the original prices, so it was reduced to about £19. Makes a perfect xmas gift for all those difficult people you get stuck with!!

Just finishing cleaning living room, washing ceiling. wiping walls down.washing curtains and venetian blinds, and been for paint to do ceiling. Why, because I was foolish enough to buy a YANKEE CANDLE, it took a week or so before I noticed the room was starting to look dirty, a wipe with a clean cloth showed everything had a film of soot,including my lungs I suppose, On reading reviews online it appears it is common. So the best thing to do with a YANKEE CANDLE is give it to someone you dont like for christmas. Ashy b

I have to agree although I love the smell on Yankee candles and do burn one most days. But I especially notice when I wash my windows the water runs off black! And that only started after using the candles so it's defo them.

This is the very reason I only burn Yankee tarts,smell is much better too

A tip for those who are burning candles, especially yankee ones. You need to trim the wick after each burn. Snip a little of the black wick off before you light. Tip was given on QVC when the yankee candles were on TSV offer. I've done it ever since and no more black windows or walls etc. Hope it helps,:)

Hi.My candles were bought from top shop "collectables" two for £20 boxed, the offending one was the red one,both are going back on monday and I expect a full refund, it will go towards the £60 damage it has caused, not to mention two days hard labour.

How odd ive been burning Yankee candles for years in most of my downstairs rooms and never had a problem. My inner windows are black when i wipe but so are my car windows and i havent been buring any in my car

May be you are smoking too many high tar ciggies in the car

Sorry i dont smoke, never will.... will also not let anyone smoke in my car full stop :cool:

Plus think about it why do they sell glass cleaner/window cleaner in shops because windows get dirty and dirt is black
