Amazon Seller Question

Hi,
Sorry if its in wrong place, let me know if it is.

I am selling some old uni books to up my income this year.

I have listed the book and edition correctly, the book sold, now 2 weeks later the buyer wants a refund because its the wrong edition.

It was definetly listed correctly, however she has clearly purchased the old edition when she wanted the new one. By my understanding, I don't need to give her a refund as it was entirely her error.

Another issue is, if I offer a refund, I have to give back the postage charge (£2.80 - can't change.) - even though it cost me nearly £4.50 to post, but amazon say up your selling price to account for this. And I also can be asked to pay the sellers fees, which could be another £4.50. Hence I will lose £10 from this whole fiasco.

Advice please...
Thanks

Not sure of the legalities of it, but I wouldn't accept it back. You've taken payment for the product you described, it's not faulty, chin up to the buyer tbh.

Thanks, thats what I think. But amazon can pull the money from my account and give it the the seller (if they see fit).

On Amazon buyers can get a refund for whatever reason they choose, you need to ask buyer to send the book back and refund in full as soon as you receive it.

If you don't voluntarily give a refund and buyer opens an A- Z on you then they still get their refund and you get a strike on your seller metrics.

Amazon are a lot stricter than ebay and apply the Distance seller requirements on all sellers whether they are a business or not.

The buyers reason is invalid, It was the correct book and edition.
I will happily refund but will NOT be out of pocket for it, postage etc.

Under the DSRs buyers do not even need a reason to return they can merely have changed their mind. Amazon are very liberal towards buyers who wish to return things.

I replied to the seller stating that the book was listed correctly, and am waiting on their response.
