iPad or other tablet

Hi, NOt sure this is in the right place...
Looking for a tablet for my daughter (15) for Xmas. Don't want to get an iPad as they are v expensive, so looking for a good alternative for a lower price.
Can anyone reccomend?
Found one in Maplin for £179.99 its a viewpad 7 touch tablet, right price but is it any good?

CAn anyone reccomend any others???

tesco are selling the samsung galaxy tab for £149 if you can find stock, and apparently there is a dell streak?? for £150 as well. HTH

Wondered if anyone knew what the ARCHOS brand tablets are like, Tesco are selling them for £179.

Currys Ebay are selling these at £129. The models are refurbished but when delivered are basically brand new with a 6 month warranty. i have had one for a year and you cant break them.
