Bluetooth Car Stereo Head Unit

My wife want s a new head unit for her car, plus we want to fit a handsfree kit for the phone. So I'm thinking about getting a combined bluetooth enabled car stereo, this sounds the easiest option as there is no messing with car kits and cabling as it's all in one unit.
Has anyone got one of these and how good are they, especially the ones with the built in mic's into the head unit compared to a phone kit with an external mic? Any recomendations?
