Funnily enough I was just telling OH the kind of things he should put in mine seeing as I have decided we are both having one this year.
Bath bomb
bubble bath
nail varnish
lip balm/gloss
chocolate
miniture alcohol
body spray
face mask sachet
Obviously depends what she likes but this should give you a starting point.0 -
A book (if she reads, check out what authors she likes)
purse/make up bag (a small one for her normal handbag)
hand cream
notepad
a pen (a nice one from Accessorize)
Mug
Socks (the nice fluffy ones - you can get some from Primark)
Smelly candle
Hot water bottle
PJ's
Nail varnish or a nail buffer
DVD0 -
You can't go wrong with a Lush bath bomb, makeup, toiletries, festive chocs, festive socks, earrings, something romantic, maybe do a photokeyring of you both, or photo mug. I know the photo thing seems cheesy but if my hubby had ever done this for me I would be over the moon.Comping wishlist for 2017
1. Family holiday 2. Christmas presents :rudolf: 3. Fishing stuffThe more you put into life, the more you get out0 -
Chocolate coins a little teddy or soft toy are a must in our stockings. How old is she? What are her hobbies? Is there a book that she's mentioned? What music does she? like perhaps a cd, How about a small digital photo frame loaded with picture of the pair of you... (you can get key ring sized ones). It depends on how soppy (or romantic) you want to be. How about a hand-warmer for when you aren't there to hold her hand.Always be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn - then always be a Unicorn !

Agree with all of the advice already, and that just by making the effort you will make her so happy! Other suggestions; diary, nice journal, notepaper or notelets if she writes to anyone the old fashioned way, scarf, little books to dip in to...jokes, cook books...try The Works for ideas. Get some nice wrapping paper too and do your best on that...presentation adds to the thought that goes into it.
Also you could do vouchers/promises for stuff like cooking a romantic meal, back rub etc
Good luck and have fun with it!Many thanks to everyone who posts competitions and works so hard to provide all the answers!

Again it really depends what shes into, if shes not a going out girly girl then she wont really want make-up (I say this because im really not, havent worn makeup since my teens and have a profound hatred of bath bombs from when I was young).
Anyway ideas: im a crafter so new beads or storage is always a winner, my sister on the other hand likes researching the family tree so a subscription to a site is good or a computer program based roung it is good (though not cheap ),
if you want to be silly and remind her of being kid theres Mr Matey bubble bath :rotfl: we all had it as kids,
a dvd that she likes,
a book if shes a reader,
does she have a PAYG mobile? a top up voucher maybe? or a mobile charm,
i personally dont think a stocking is complete without chocolate money,
both my kids normally get a christmas themed mini snow globe,
if shes a wine drinker there are small bottles of wine in the supermarket
A strange question, but is she left handed? just my son is and ive got him a left handed pirate mug (it has a slot at the bottom for a cookie so cant be used other way round) there are lots of little things for lefties
Agree with scarf and gloves
If you want to mak her laugh and shes prone to losing things theres key finders

Oh, we're doing this too this year, I think I may send this thread to my other half! What about:
Some retro sweets? Cola cubes, fizz wizz etc
An orange and some nuts (if you're going traditional!)
A book light
Depending on how mcuh you're spending, some tickets somewhere? Cinema over the Xmas break for instance?
Or what about doing the stocking as a theme? For example, 'Xmas Eve' and filling it with things for Xmas Even (and opening them then too) such as:
PJ's
Hot Choc (maybe a minature of baileys!)
Marashmallows
Book
DVD
Chocs
Cosy socks
Facemask
Small bubblebath or bathbomb (though those things stink so she's probably guess)0 -
H & M have lovely jumpers for £1.99 ( there is also 25%off and £5 off in this thread )
This might fill it up a bit and for a great price !

Hmm the ideas so far are good but a little impersonal, does she have something specific so you can theme it?
For example I LOVE pokemon, I LOVE video games, I LOVE plushies, I'm obsessive about lipbalm (does she have any habits?), cute little oriental trinkets, we watch thundercats together, waybuloo, we watch stoke city matches together. I like gardening and cooking. I drink white wine with lemonade, I study sociology and I LOVE lingerie sets. So do a list of things you're girlfriend not only likes but also involves herself with? What is her job? If she works as a office worker example is there anything other office workers have she doesn't like someone mentioned a fancy pen? Or a stress ball? Or pretty post it notes, did someone nick her stapler (sorry i've never worked in an office I have no idea what is vital for your job :P) a seethrough pencil case is mandatory for my job but mines place and boring so if my bf brought me a prettier one that'd be appreciated it'd go with my outfits more.
So an personalised example list based on what I like for me could be things like this.
- see through pencil case or a prettier lock for my locker - work related
- a pokemon plushie or a small key ring with one on etc. - interest related
- some lipsils
- there's a japanese store that sells these cute hats (poodle hats or panda hats) - take note of things you see at markets or stalls etc. that are a little unusal as you walk about. It may be something different to what I like like a specially flavoured olive oil etc. try christmas markets we have one in manchester. Does she like vintage things? Try a charity shop?
- a real rose would be a nice touch - think of a a specific time to you or an inside joke, my bf used to nick his mums fake roses and present them to me before we were a couple i used to be touched not realising they were his mums. A real rose (finally) would be lovely.
- Maybe a little summary book on a module I study would be thoughtful and not to hard to work out (amazon does cheap study books don't get a proper one they're like £25 but a summary one I have a summary of the enlightenment i got for £2 from oxfam it has pictures :P)
- Gardening - a cute squirt bottle I always forget to water my plants maybe I wouldn't if I had one. It is also a key item in one of the pokemon games.
- A stoke city scarf or a ticket from a match we've already seen ages ago that we can look at and remember it by kinda proves it was a nice day for him too.
- A fancy pair of knickers - I love lingerie :P
- A waybuloo blankie - it's winter?
- Some kinda cooking utensil I need i.e. a steamer basket is something I'd love.
The list could go on, it's not important how much I actually like these things I'd love a waybuloo blanket but I might not like the colour of the knickers he chose etc. It's not that that is important but the fact all these presents HAVE MEANING to us both so if any of them were in a stocking i'd be over the moon. It'd be even cuter if you could explain why they were in there in case she didn't realise. 'Oh I thought you'd like a nice stapler for work so people could have stapler envy' etc.
Be careful about perfumes and jewerally as cheap perfume and jewerally usually isn't appreciated unless she likes a perfume tht happens to be not very pricey etc. Careful about bath sets too most girls like bath bombs but things like shower gels etc. are hella boring so make sure you don't go dead generic. Someone suggested nail varnish that could be cute but pay attention to what colour she wears and it's best if you don't know to go for clear or pearly pink or red because most women will wear those colours occasionally. Be careful about makeup unless you know specifics and they're in your budget don't try and get a different version of a brand she uses because she will have most likely researched or trial and errored the makeup she uses and have good reasons why she prefers it make up is not all one and the same. Again careful about face creams etc. everyones skin is different. You're best bet is really paying attention for these few months, maybe raid her makeup bag her bathroom her kitchen, listened if she complains about something 'oh for godsake where's my whisk' take note of what things you enjoy doing together etc. you could always out no perishable food in the stocking my bf loves lemon curd apparently o.O I bought him tht and some strawberry vodka from a special market last year. I suspect he ate it out of the jar.
Basically to make it less boring pretend you're a spy or a secret agent. I hope your mission is a success :P0 -
Primark is brilliant for stocking filler type stuff if you're brave enough to tackle it (I know my OH isn't!).
-Festive undies and socks
-Lipbalm
-Jewellery - they have charm bracelets and charms for not-a-lot-of-money, buy a few charms and clip them on the bracelet and wrap it in tissue paper to look a bit less Primarky!
-Gloves
How about a miniature of her favourite perfume, or check the travel minis in Boots/Superdrug/M&S for little toiletries.
I wish my OH would come on here for ideas of what to put in my stocking; last year I got the oddest assortment of things which was good for a laugh on the day but quickly went in the bin or to the charity shop! Maybe I should just buy what I want and ask him to wrap it for me!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
