So ,as I'm on Mat leave, i'm not going to have as much funds this year for christmas presents. So I have decided I'm going to try and sell unwanted things in my home and use the cash for presents !!
Has anyone ever done this ?
So far ive found an old mobile phone which I have just sent off to envirophone ! Fingers crossed I get a bit of cash

I do this every year, especially with the kids old toys, sell the old to buy the new.
I also haunt the competitions boards and make stuff to keep the cost down. SO far spent £30 odd quid, cost of presents bought over £1100SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000 -

I sell everything on ebay
your not the first to ask how I did it lol. I've been extremely lucky this year with competition wins, won both kids christmas and OH as well. Bought BIL's present with a £10 amazon voucher I got from playing Woohoo Bingo, which is a free online bingo site. Lot of other gifts ive bought from ebay with money ive made from selling stuff round the house
Total actual cash spent out of my purse is £34.39. I have a bet going with DH that I cannot do the entire extended family (12 people including DH and kids) for £100, he thought he was a shoe in to win in January hes now looking a bit worried :rotfl:
I will say try everything on ebay as its amazing what will sell, there is a thread about 'what you didnt think would sell on ebay' really manky shoes are quite popular (though ive never been brave enough ) I did sell an empty jean paul gautier bottle thoughSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000 -

i've been doing the same this year as i'm so skint
sold quite a bit on ebay, mainly kids clothes but i've recently been using facebay, which is like an ebay on facebook. Theres various groups nearby where you can list things for sale & its all free.
I've sold in the last month:
my bike - 165
old tv unit- fourty
happyland toys - 60
sylvanian toys - thirty5
girls coats- tenner
trainers- tenner
bose speakers- 100 (though that was halfed with me dad)
and various other things for a few quid
:j
I used my bike money to buy dd1 an ipod touch for her birthday. So yes its an expensive present per se, but the way i look at it - it never really cost anything as my bike sat in the hut for a year and i never even looked at it
Good luck with your selling - do let us know how you get on
(jakes-mum - wow look at all you've won - well done you. How many more presents have you got to get now with your remaining money? what a great challenge - hope you win the bet lol)0 -
well done with your sales my3girls
i've got mum, dad, MIL, sister (who wants a voucher grrr lol) 2 nieces and a couple of extra bits for my nephew which will prob prob be homemade like cheeky monkey milkshake etc as I won him some books already
