Hi there, thanks so much for posting about our competition! It seems that the problem is that if you have a popup blocker this will block the Facebook window that comes up asking the user for permission to access their data and we are unable to continue until that is clicked. There is also a bug affecting those using 3.6 version Firefox.
If you can enter using the Facebook app, please do as this will guarantee that you are entered into the competition.
You can also enter by signing up to our newsletter via the form on the homepage of GiftGenies dot com (apologies - I can't post a link to the form as a new member).
Of course we will also manually enter people who enter by email, but as we are getting so many email entries I'm slightly concerned that we may miss 1 or 2 entries, so please use the other methods of entry if possible as they are a bit safer.0 -

A popup blocker isn't the problem because if it was ....all apps requiring permission wouldn't work. Bad idea to blame the end user for problems caused at your end. FF is on version 7 now...so there will be almost no-one using that older version. Your tech guys are telling you porkies lolHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

We used a social.webtrends app to create the competition app. They are a big company that make lots of Facebook apps, so we were surprised to encounter any problems. I can only tell you what they have told us. The latest they have told us is that 'it looks like this is mainly related to Facebook having a popup for permissions now instead of just a modal, in screen, dialog box. This is being blocked as a popup and freezing the process. Our engineering team is looking into a fix'. Hopefully we will have a solution to this soon.
Thanks for your patience, and huge apologies for the inconvenience!0
