Brdiesmaid dress help please

Hi

I am now at the point of getting my lovely ladies to try on bridesmaid dresses. I have two styles in mind both Mori Lee (269 and 286) and was hoping that if I found a Mori Lee bridesmaid stockist that they would have these styles. It doesn't seem to be as straight forward as that at all.

Hardly anyone seems to stock Mori Lee and even less seem to have those styles although they have told me they are current styles.

Silly question, but how can I get them to try these dresses on??? Am rather confused now. :(

  • I seem to recall that you're in Kent (if you're not - apologies)

Thanks. Yes I am in Kent. Well remembered. So have been looking in Kent and also in Essex as 2 bridesmaids that side of the river. :)

I'll have a look at the link. Thanks again. :A
  • Phew! (Please don't think I'm a stalker!)

By the looks of it, that shop stocks one of the style numbers. They name their dresses and don't show all of them on the website.

As a word of warning, I didn't find the staff in the shop to be very friendly. In fact they were quite rude. They were also very rude to my brother's fiancee. So personally I'd try the dresses on there and order from somewhere else if you can. The website below delivers.

Oh thanks so much sweetie (or should that be stalker :rotfl:)

Thanks for the warning on the staff too. Thats rather sad, but to be honest I was thinking about ordering off a web site to try and keep costs down.

I'll have a play on the link for teh web site now.

    Thanks once again. :)

    Hey COMP,

Thanks so much for your help. :A I contacted them and they have advised that they have both dresses in stock so we can go and try them. :j Just got to arrange a date they can all do now... I want to go this Sat, but guess its a bit short notice.

Can I be cheeky and ask your opinion on something (espcially given your earlier comments about the staff). I already have 2 dresses from ebay. Do you think they would be accommodating enough to let us try those as well as theirs i.e. so we can see which of my lovely ladies they fit best and then sound out how much it would cost to get them altered there???

Sorry, I know you're asking for Comp's advice but I think that's extremely unlikely. The alterations wont be money for the shop, they'll likely have a seamstress contracted to them (they might make a tenner on it perhaps, especially if you don't buy the dress from them.)

    Thanks for that Maggie .

Never thought of it that way - guess I was assuming that the shop would have someone in store for alterations. :o

Given my experience with them, they won't even entertain letting you try on other dresses there. I felt like I was putting them out trying on the dresses they DID stock :o The assistant I got was extremely put out that I didn't buy a dress there and then.

I believe their seamstress is not in-house. The staff in the shop don't know much about alteration costs either.

I really do hope you have a better experience in there than I did! If you do get a Saturday appointment, make sure you allow plenty of time for parking - there's a TINY car park behind the shop which fills up quite quickly so you may need to find somewhere else to park.

Thanks so much for that COMP.

I have been emailing them to try and arrange an appointment and so far they seem friendly. But its a useful heads up - I also won't be ordering there and then.

thanks for the tip about the car park as well.

    I love this forum. :)
  • Must add, a friend of mine got her wedding dress from here and she was happy. Hopefully both me and my SIL caught them at a bad time.

    Hope it all goes well!
