Kenwood Chef - which one?

Options
I'd love a Kenwood Chef - you see here we go again, all this money saving is costing me!:o Can't afford the lovely stainless steel £350 one in the Lakeland Catalogue so had a look on ebay. Can anyone recommend a particular model - I'd like one that you can get the mouli sieve type attachment for (I'm sure someone round here mentioned on of these). And due to limited space and the fact that we're not keen on bread maker bread unless I bake it off in the oven - would I be able to ditch my breadmaker and existing food processor?
Or should I stick with what I've got and remember to bid for the next large mouli sieve that comes up on ebay?
I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

There is a collection of posts about Kenwoods. You will probably find your answer there.

That superb shiny one in the Lakeland catalogue seems to be for sale on e bay as a 'buy it now' for quite a lot less - I have never understood those things - are they a scam, he apparently has 5 to sell. Did they fall off the back of a lorry, or what ? (I hope that's not libellous) but it does seem odd a) that people aren't falling over themselves to buy them if they are genuine and b) how it can seem to be the exact same model number and everything, and new, and yet he's selling them at such a big reduction. I think the whole issue of which model to have is very confusing. J Lewis were selling one at £299 before Xmas, which they then dropped the price to £249, and I was psyching myself to go and get one, when they upped the price again. Grrrrrr.
What I did was to buy a 901 on e Bay quite cheaply to see if I use it as much as I think I will, so that I can decide whether I really need a big new one. So far I haven't used it anything like as much as I planned, so think I am going to stick with my food processor and this old Kenwood model which goes fine if a bit noisily. Good luck hunting !
  • Lakeland is expensive, look on kelkoo, will save you quite a bit if you want a new one from a genuine shop.
