Air Canada Blunder- any help !?

When trying to book flights on line with Air Canada a price was quoted upon entering credit card details but when confirming purchase of flights a new page came up with a price increase of £140. You needed to enter credit card info. again if you still wanted to going ahead with the purchase. We did not do this or purchase on line as there was no reason given for increase in total fare. We purchased over the phone instead. Subsenquently we have discovered that Air Canada have taken for both the phone and on line bookings. The on line booking was never fully completed or authorised.

To make matters worse they are agreeing to cancel and refund but this will take 4- 6 weeks to complete. They have been both unhelpful and unconcerned with this major error.

The credit card company are reluctant to help as Air Canada has agreed a time line to refund.

This seems totally absurd and unfair any help/ suggestions on this matter would be gratefully received

The price increase of £140 is probably the taxes and other associated fees associated with air travel. Most airlines dont quote these in the fare price.

As for the rest, I cannot help.
