Did you see my post on the 'What 50 items would you want?' thread? It is similar to yours but the daughter in this case managed to contact lots of people their dad knew from his past. Possibility? Maybe get your MIL to help with people to contact?....

How about a scrapbook page of old pictures of his children with a childhood memories theme, as in they write what they remember about their childhood

Or Grandchildren write what they love about grandpa and maybe one for Grandma too x
