Microwave deals?

Hi all - my microwave has just died  So while I'm waiting for my frozen pies to defrost/cook in the oven (very OS!) I thought I'd see if anyone knows of any good deals on microwaves - sales/vouchers/offers - don't mind really. Or, if anyone knows if the "value" microwaves are any good (Mr T does one for £26.99 but do you really get what you pay for?)

The following might help you decide on the Tesco MM08 Value Microwave:

Dooyoo does look a little too comprehensive not to be a review site were people get rewarded for adding their opinions. Not sure how reliable a site this is, though it may be as reliable as any other. I'll leave that for you to decide.0 -
Thanks so much for the links - after looking at those I went to the store and had a look at them "in the flesh" - but I have to say I wasn't so much impressed with the manual models - the dials seemed to be completely off!
I've gone with this one (I had some nectar points)

I did compare it side by side with the 20L/900W one of the same brand but there didn't appear to be much difference (other than an extra £5). Anyway, so far so good!0 -
I'm kind of glad you didn't go for the Tesco one in the end. I bought a Technica DVD player from Tesco about 2yrs ago and died on me not long after buying it. Fairly sure Technica is Tesco's own brand, wasn't much good anyway to be honest. Serves me right for being such a cheapskate. Didn't really want to splash out at the time but would invest in a better one next time. May get a PVR next time instead.0

I'm of a similar mind tbh - I bought a Technica DVD/VCR combi from Tesco when they first came out - it had a 12 month g'tee and lasted 13 months! Tesco couldn't have been less helpful. I know many think we live in a "throwaway" society (that doesn't include me btw:))but I expected it to last longer than that! So it kind of puts you off a little.0 -
What do people think about those microwaves that have a grill.
I've never had one but to save using the normal oven i thought if my microwave dies and needs replacing i may go down that line next time.
Are they worth it ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Depends what you cook in it, main benefits are crisp not soggy pastry and browned chicken. If you get a larger one then you can do most of a roast dinner in one.
Most have programmes but some go as far as you just putting something in and it automatically cooking it0 -
