  • i get my bikini waxed once a month, same with eyebrows and underarms and i epilate my legs. i tried to epilate my underams ONCE. it freakin hurt!!! in between i pluck my eyebrows. i got them threaded the other week and i loved it! only once in a while i would do that though.

would love to get laser for hair removal but i cannot afford it. one day though.

i get my hair but every 8 weeks or so. less often than that at the mo coz money is tighter coming up to xmas and im trying to grow it. i dye it myself though coz i get it a dark purple colour (sounds horrible but its not) and it fades really fast and i cant afford it so i buy my dye when its on special. normally about £6-8 but i got 3 for £12 last time and ive still 1 bottle left and i got points on my card too.

i use a body scrub when i tan. normally do it myself but ive had 2 spray tans for special nights out where ive had my back on show in my dress and ive not been able to get someone to help me but it was quite cheap (£15) compared to all the other salons in town (£25 is the next cheapest and its not as good a quality tan thats used). other than that i use a body brush or exfoliating gloves. my scrub only cost a couple quid and coz i only use it now and again its very good value for money.

i used to have acrylics but again i cannot afford them and havent for a long time. i do my own nails now from manicures to nail art and nail stamping. everyone tells me i should start up on my own doing nails but the nail technicians courses about over £400 and i cant afford that either but its something i can think about for the future and maybe something to save up for.

not as MSE as i could be but we all need little treats now and again (or i do anyway) just to lift my mood and for a wee bit on "me time" when im on my own every day with 2 littlies.
  • I get my hair cut and coloured when I can afford to...usually with a trainee as it's cheaper...I don't buy cheap makeup any more and instead am investing in a few expensive basics...find I'm buying much less as the quality is so much better, so for me works out the same :)

One thing I do need to do is book appointment with local chiropractor...I go 2-3 times a year as my back tends to seize up (bad as I'm only 25!) I hate the cracking noises, but always come out feeling a lot better, so shouldn't complain. lol.

  • oooooooooooow much for nails?
I wish I could afford that for all the treatments.
Hair cut for me is about twice a year, lovely lady near me for about £10
none of the rest for me, I only shave underarms for holidays abroad.
    (I should be so lucky)
Having said that, if it makes you feel good, then why not do it,life is so short and a little luxury now and then must be good for you.
I would love to try the fishy foot thing even though the only other person to touch my feet was my dad.

I pay to get my hair cut, cant imagine doing that myself, but I have long hair so only got about 3 times a year and Im lucky enough that Im almost 28 and still have blonde hair so never needed to dye it.

But everything else I do myself. You can get great hair removal stuff in boots so I dont see the point of paying someone else to do it for me. I tan very easily so my tan from the summer tends to last, apart from on my face, until my next holiday if I can get away somewhere in the spring. And I sometimes use a holiday skin type thing as its not proper fake tan so doesnt look orange.

I hate fake nails, but always paint my toenails, wouldnt ever go out with bare ones. Occasionally ill paint my nails.

Im quite good with make up so did my own for my wedding which I was really pleased with. But the woman who did my hair was amazing and there is no way I could have done anything like what she did! Worth every penny!

too right! i do everything for my kids on my own so if i want to get my hair done to look good and feel good then why not as long as i give them everything they need and some of what they want?

i got one of the fish pedicures (groupon special :rotfl:) and yes it was weird and a bit relaxing but i found it didnt make that much difference to my feet compared to "sanding" them myself and soaking them in a foot spa or bath (or even the shower lol). wouldnt actually pay for it again like but at least i tried it.

about to get tropical fish for my tank tomorrow but im getting sharks lol. dont think ill try a DIY one with them :rotfl:.

oh just had a flash back of a drunken convo with my mates bf after i got it done. he wanted to know what else they could nibble the skin off of and lets just say he had an idea for rubber seals and round holes in the side!!

I cut my own hair I sometimes trim my own fringe. I usually have my hair cut for free by a friend but if she's not available when I desperately need it cutting I do go to a hairdressers now and again.

Its not all that, you could get the same effect at home with a good scrubbing & some rich cream. Its not a patch on a proper pedicure.

You're joking about leaving the underarm hair right?

I don't pay for any beauty treatments, but I would never attempt to cut my own hair. It is very fine and very straight and any mistakes would really show up. Even hairdressers have occasionally had to go and get the senior stylist to sort out a mistake. I used to have a bob and hairdressers used to have a nervous breakdown trying to get the bottom straight and even. If I did have lots of money I would get beauty treatments beccause my friends feel so relaxed after having them. I never feel relaxed after attempting my own pedicure!

I generally do all those things myself, although I will treat myself to a blow-dry for an event (although in reality I do this maybe once a year!), and I do treat myself to a massage or something if I ever have a trip to the spa with the girls (again though, once a year, tops).

I had my legs, bikini and eye brows done before my holiday this year though and now I'm epilating to keep on top of it - so far so good!

I use a gradual tanner - there's one in the Sanctuary range which I LOVE. It smells nice, gives a great colour, and isn't expensive. A £2.99 bottle maybe lasts me a month or more. My friend does do spray tans though for £10, so if I've not been moisturising for a while and need a last minute tan I'll go to her, but this is rare.

I rarely get my hair cut, maybe once a year? I really ought to go more often but as my hair is curly/wavy, it doesn't show much if the ends are a bit scraggy!

I've treated myself to a pedicure before and I thought my feet would feel amazing judging by the amount of skin she took off, but they really didn't feel any different so I'm reluctant to pay for another!

Wedding hair and makeup though would be essential for me if I were to get married. I'd want to be confident my make up would look good in photos and last all day, and I'm just pants at putting my hair up!!
