Ipad 2 Win WAhooo (hopefully, please help!)

Hi just had an email from The Spires Shopping Centre and after checking back need to say a HUGE THANKS to SarajevoSimmo for posting, the problem is that the email asks me to phone a number to arrange collection of the prize which is in Barnet and I live in Devon!
Also says I need to have piccy taken for the local press, it is so far away it realy isnt an option to travel there so was wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do, Thankyou x

First bit of advice would be to read a competition post more carefully.

As for the win i would pay a friend or relative petrol and time money to take me to London then put the ipad on ebay to recoup the money i paid to go and get it.

I would go and get it myself. Bookig the train tickets 2 weeks in advance and traveling off peak means i would estimate a max price as 30 from exeter. It's under 3 hours from exeter to paddigton. All in all you could do it in a day and have eiher an iPad2/or 400 cash. Very reasonble for a day sitting on a train reading a book. Would seem such. Shame to fight it out and ask them to post it. Means they lose put on promotion that has helped them run the comp so perhaps they won't run more. Either that or ask them to draw another winner. When entering local company I always roughly estimate how much it would cost to collect if they ask me to go. I hope you make the effort to get your prize I don't think you would regret it. If you are physically unable to travel I am sure a friend would do it for skirting the cash with them. Congrats on your win

Cheap fares. I'm going from Crewe to Glasgow + return for £9! You have to work for it though....Gotta get the 6am train . Worth it for an iPad!

before i enter comps that mean you have to get somewhere to get the prize, i work out how much it would cost me to get there and the value of the prize. if the prize is worth more than the travelling expenses then i enter the comp! i got caught out once when i first started comping. in fact i think i won the comp cos i was the furthest away!

I would ask if someone could get it on your behalf, check with friends, family,or any one you know that lives in london...make it worth their while x thats what i would do anyways xx does it have to be you in the pics?

well done on your win My friend lives in Devon and she comes here all the time getting the cheap train tickets (more than 2 weeks in advance) or the monster bus. Or as someone else says have you someone who could collect on your behalf? It would be such a shame to lose it x

Thankyou so much for all your helpful coments, I usualy check all the T&Cs before etering a comp to make sure things like this dont happen. I found thecomp cos its still on the website and it doesnt say anything about collection but does say would need to take part in publicity, so fair enough I guess!
It is a fantastic prize and your right, well worth the journey I will givethem a ring tomorro and see what can be sorted, thanks again everyone x
