DVardysShadow wrote: »The thing about SarEl's advice is that it is only ever partial. She will paint the grimmest blackest picture of the legal position and leave it at that, as though it is the full answer. I have had protracted arguments with her in the past over her advice being only partial, but she does not seem to get the point. So just imagine that she had written a sentence along the lines of 'this is just the legal position, other posters will give useful advice which may help address the problem without recourse to law'.
So take the legal perspective as advice that there is nothing for you in the law and look at the other ways of dealing with it.
Anyone's view of anything is partial - why do you think that I am the only person required to stipulate this every time I post. Yours is partial too - but you never state that. Whether what I say is grim or not depends on the post, and the circumstances. Nor is it always "the legal position" - and in this case I gave advice which was not based on the legal position, and didn't even mention the law until the OP started claiming rights they did not have. In fact my suggestion was to not depend on the law because what the OP expected from it was unrealistic and would not happen.
And yes, you have had protracted arguments with me in the past - about the fact that you seem to be of the opinion that only you are entitled to an opinion or to post. I shall not be entering into one with you again, but let's be accurate about things shall we?0 -
If you don't want to change your job and can't take a holiday, I'll advise you to practice yoga, take vitamins and maybe visit a psychotherapist, so that you could talk to someone about all this and get reloaded.0

If it makes you feel superior lauding your knowledge if equality law over the likes of me, then bully for you.
Because I have taken my leave during the year I have done something wrong have I? Not looking to hold anyone over a barrel, looking for some advice. I am committed to my work, have been there 7 years and had a total of 5 days off sick in that time. The smell is of someone suffering from stress, a first in 25 years of an unblemished career, who doesn;t know what to do and thought a forum like this might offer some help - your comments hurt more than help, was that your intent?
To be honest mate, you rarely get useful advice on here, its more of a talking down to, or a telling off. SarEl is particularly good at that.;)0 -

And with a grand total of 94 posts, most of which seem to be conncerned with why unemployed people shouldn't really have to do anything much to find work - you would know? All you have done on this board is slag off the board - if you despise it so much why bother coming here?0 -
Well, 'being accurate', I started the arguments, so it would not be about that would it?And yes, you have had protracted arguments with me in the past - about the fact that you seem to be of the opinion that only you are entitled to an opinion or to post.
