020 missed call!

Hi, I had a missed call from an 020 number today(020******29). I called back to find it was a company called be sure. The person that answered said they called because I had entered a comp to win an iPad.......But then went on to try to sell me cancer insurance for women:mad:. When I asked ." So i haven't won then?" he said no. I told him I didn't want his insurance! I wanted to put this here just in case anyone else has a missed call and wonders what it was.

I had a missed call on friday (from what i think is the same company, same start and end numbers). Couldn't find out who it was after searching google for the number so thanks for posting!

I had the call too, he was polite and when he asked why I didnt want to by the insurance I couldn't think of an explanation! I still don't know, is 'I can't be bothered' reasonable??? I didn't buy it anyway.

Looks like they did run a competition through handbag.com, but they shouldn't use it as an excuse to call people.

I've had a few calls like this, :mad: When they mention a comp I've entered I get butterflies only to have my hopes dashed:(

I feel like screaming, but politely say I'm too busy to talk and hang up.

I keep getting a lot of calls from this number and googled the number, telling me I had won a comp, when I asked who they are, they hang up. next time it show up on my phone, I will not be answering it

This happened to me too! When she said 'you recently entered a competition with us...' I got excited- she then said 'we would like to offer you insurance..' I told her I was too busy to discuss it and hung up! Mean people leading us on like that!
