Organising my first hen do! And Bridesmaid dress advice?

Just to echo that £600 is far too much to expect people to pay out even if they have time to save (unless you & all your friends are loaded, but I wouldn't expect that on this site!).
I organised a full hen weekend including two nights accomodation in apartments in Central Edinburgh, dinner & drinks on the Friday, use of a spa on Saturday, murder mystery dinner in a private suite in a nice hotel for less than £100 each (which included all food and some drinks (the apartments had nice kitchen too) - people did have to pay for their travel on top of that). People could opt in-out of things to suit circumstances/budget/preferences - but the bride got to share the celebration with everyone.
Another hen do I attended was a pajama party at the bride to be's mother in law's house. They had arranged for girls to come from the final year beauty course at local college - as well as a buffet and some drinks we all got 2 treatments for the grand sum of £20! Bargain!
I'd speak to your bride and see what she thinks - is the fancy spa the most important thing - or getting to spend time with her girls? There is lots you could do to have the same type of day cheaper than buying a spa package at a luxury resort.0
