What to buy an 81 year old lady for Christmas

Does anyone have any good ideas?

She has absolutely everything! Im stuck and starting to think of a little hamper with her favourite things in - hand cream, nail varnish, a candle etc etc - Im just not sure if its a bit boring!

I would like to spend around £20 - £25

Thanks in advance if you have any suggestions.

  • A hamper sounds great. You could add slippers, chocolates etc or maybe you could buy her a magazine subscription for Peoples Friend, Womans Weekly or My Weekly?

My Mom is nearly 80 and loves these magazines.

if she lives alone why not give her a home made giftvoucher offering her afternoon tea out at a time and place to suit both parties

What sort of things does she like? I'm inclined to say that age doesn't matter and it is more important to match the present to her personality and interests than her age, per se.

£20 is a nice amount of money to enable you to do something together maybe, rather than give a material gift, if she already has everything. Maybe a lunch or coffee and cakes out somewhere nice after Christmas? Or a trip to the cinema? A magazine subscription is also a lovely idea - does she have any hobbies that it could be related to? :)
  • Hi. I bought my grandmother a family research gift package last year from a company who I saw advertised in my local paper although they operate throughout the UK. It was a great present for her as she has EVERYTHING and I was totally stuck what to buy her. If your interested il pass on the info for you.
