Credit file correction and compesation from bank

Hi,
I recently got my credit file successfully amended from a partial settlement to a full settlement and received compensation.
I'd moved house several times (wasn't receiving letters) and started getting into arrears on an overdraft - roughly £500. Alliance & Leicester phoned me up (on my mobile number they had all the time) to advise that they were taking me to court unless I settled immediately which I did. This was around 18 months ago.
I recently checked my credit file and was surprised to see a partial settlement.
I complained to Santander a few weeks ago on a few points;
1. They had my number all along and only phoned me just before court action.
2. I wasn't made aware of the consequences of paying the figure they offered me instead of the full amount (the difference was only about £50.
I received a letter saying that they admit they were wrong, will change my credit file to full settlement and have offered me £30 compensation.
My question is, am I entitled to more compensation? Or should I accept £30? It's the only blemish on my credit file and it's hindered me getting credit for things. The other option would be the financial ombudsmen.
Thanks,
Dominic

I think its about the norm really. Even if you argued do you think an extra £20 would be worth all the hassle.
Not sure whether the FO would cover this but when I had a dispute over my pension, I got a £50 compensation after going through the FOS and it took nearly 12 months. It cost me more than that in time and finding documents and photocopying and sending things off.
If you want it settled so you can move on I would just accept the £30 to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
you can claim any losses you've incurred as a result of the default, eg having to pay more for a mortgage or loan and are entitled to compensation of between £100-£300 (what the Ombudsman would award).
your claim is easier because the bank has admitted their mistake.0 -
Update.
As a result of this ammendment my credit score has jumped up 122 points from the previous month0 -
Your 'score' is meaningless0
