  • All of our direct debits mortgage etc are sill coming out of the halifax - i get paid weekly and my husband monthly so he is due wages on 31st Jan. Im surprised it hasnt been frozen earlier - its killing me at the moment too cause as soon as i go over the overdraft they whack me with another £30 charge so im not gettin anywhere fast.
Im gonna switch his wages to his new (HSBC) account and then switch the mortgage too and sort my new account out.
Do you know what happens if i still owe the halifax charges but i stop using the account? how will they get their money?

Are you saying that your Halifax account has £2,500 overdraft that was included in the IVA but you're still using the account? This is very unusual and I'm sure it should not be allowed.

I would speak to my IP about it to work out the best course of action for you to take. I would get your wages paid somewhere else ASAP though.
Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
