    You should be good to go on your own, but the lender will ask whether there will be any adult occupiers and may do a background check on your partner regardless, especially if your records are linked at the credit reference agencies in any way.

    Get a copy of your Experian and Equifax reports (single name) and see if there are any financial connections.

    Post Office lending criteria does say they are lighter on mobile/catalogue late payments, but I've never tested this.

    As the last late payment was nearly 4 years ago, it shouldn't be a major problem, I would suggest if you are in a long term relationship your partner should always be added to the mortgage.
