Wedding in Italy

Hi all. Just wondering whether anyone has got married or is planning a wedding in Italy. Trying to plan a wedding in Rome but am going crazy with all the links to wedding agencies. Any recommendations or has anyone done it on their own? Help!

Hi, congratulations first of all! I'm getting married on the Amalfi Coast next year, we booked through Citalia (travel agents) in the end to (hopefully) make things easier for us.
I looked at so many different wedding planners based in Italy but in the end went with citalia as it's a set price and you know you won't have any extras further down the line. It doesn't suit everyone but it gives me some peace of mind!

We're getting married in Florence next May and there's a wedding fair in Florence the first week of November 2011 that we're visiting called tuttosposifirenze (sorry, it won't let me put in the link to it). I imagine there must be similar events in Rome, and if so it may give you some ideas if you could go to one. Sorting out all the paperwork is a bit of a headache unless you can speak the language. The town hall won't even take the booking from us until six months before, then they tell you that they don't do the diary until the end of December. Thank goodness we didn't want to get married in January!

Thanks Soupdragon. We want to get married in June. I was going to book it in December but they keep saying come in January. Now I may know why. Will look for wedding fair.
