He's been told to sort out what I can ebay and what he's going to bin asap before I burn/sell the lot. I'd def use BFGbay for the mess dress though.
Lol. Im still wearing C95 - BUT I still have old Barrack dress, and lightweights/green shirts/jumpers (still with Cpl strikes on) in my wardrobe and they havent beeen used for 16 years !!!0 -
Just a thought. if you have LOADS of army kit - it might be worth just boxing it up and taking it to a army Surplus store? you wouldnt get as much as EBay I dont think BUT it would be done in one go with no photos/postage/packing etc and would be quick.0

Thanks Paul, that's exactly what we were thinking of ... OH is going to speak to the army navy store up the road from us when I am away ... If the guy is agreeable to buying good quality kit then it will all be getting boxed up and taken down to him ... tis a win win situation ... I get rid of a load of stuff from the house that is no longer needed and get some cash for it ... granted it wouldn't be as much as ebay but it would be gone and we could use the cash towards debt repayments.LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Just looking thru my finances and chuffed to say there is a fair chunk already gone.
My lightbulb moment - March 2008
Debts at their highest - £33990
Debts now - £16680
Total paid off so far - £17310
I should point out that these are joint debts ... not including anything that OH has at the mo ... my focus is the joint ones and my personal ones ...
Chuffed with that but loads more to go ... best get back to it then!LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Not sure how much use Army and Navey will be. There not really Army surplus and almos more of an outwards bound place.
What you need to look for (unless you get luck with A/N) is a backstreet Army Surplus Store, or a market stall selling the stuff. Best place to find your nearest is a trip down to you local Army Cadets and see where they get their stuff. In fact - it might be worth a trip anyway and see if there is anyone there who wants it (not the uniform obviously - it wont fit probably) - there the biggest buyers of the stuff.0 -
Cheers Paul, we have one of those backstreet surplus stores .. rather than go in, I'm going to phone them first so I don't waste my time and theirs.
If not ... BFGbay here we come!!!!

GRRRRRRRRR - so much for FOH getting a new fridge freezer ... he ordered one and paid for it ... delivery was sposed to be yesterday but they effed it up and said friday instead - he said no, give me refund and don't bother ... i asked for the refund to help pay for a cheap one ... he said no cos he has no money in his bank account - I am sooooo sick and tired of financially carrying him as well as everything else I am having to deal with ... to top it all off he is being a complete p***k about me asking my mum to pick my kids up today ... have told him to find somewhere else to live as I am no longer prepared to cope with all this s**t.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
If that happens ... will be reverting to maiden name and getting legal advice to disassociate me from him financially.:p
Love the fact that when we married i had a perfect credit rating ... his was pants ... now he is the one with the debit card and contract phone but I can't get nothing cos my credit is shot to pieces cos of him!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Hi bonsibabe, I've just read through your diary
my dh is in the army too and we have so much kit around it's unbelieveable. When he was last deployed I went through it all and sold loads of bits on ebay to pay a debt
he never even noticed and I made quite a bit of money esp from the hydro pack things (sorry don't know what they are called!) and his boots ....and he moans at me for having too many shoes, pfft#!
I hope you get the fridge freezer sorted soon!
And well done on all the debt you've busted so far! That's an amazing amount!

ohhh I cannot wait for mine to disappear on deployment next - I'm going to have so much fun selling his old kit!
Bonsi, I hope that you sort yourself out one way or another with OH, they can be so incredibly stupid at times can't they, and I swear half of it comes from being too coddled by the army - mine is utterly convinced its normal to treat himself to a 'nice' steak two or three times a week, and at the moment is adamant that when we move we can afford to pay for a full removals service when he as yet hasn't managed to save a penny towards his half of the deposit and assorted other fees (meanwhile I have mine and about 50% extra sat in my savings account - of course if I end up paying it all I'll be keeping the deposit from the flat we're leaving!).It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Thank you hun:beer:. Well the mess dress is being listed this weekend on BFG-bay as I hear we have more chance of getting the price we want or close to it. Going to be phoning the local surplus store as well to see just how much I could get for taking the rest of the kit to them instead of going thru the hassle of ebaying it, although I want a good price for the bergen that I paid a fortune for on ebay:rotfl:
On the fridge freezer side, we are on a special tarriff with the leccy company and they used to have a scheme where you could trade in your old and inefficient fridge freezer and get a new more efficient model for £50 so am going to phone them tomorrow after work to see if this scheme is still in force. If so am going to apply for it and see if I can get a cheapy one that will work better than the heap of carp I have at the mo (although this one is 11 years old and has moved several times!)
Thank you for the clearing of debts ... most of that came from a car we bought whilst in Germany ... came back and had no money make payments ... we called the company and asked for a payment holiday or token payments till our finances were straight and were told NO NO NO  ... they threatened a CCJ and then said we had one but I managed to get them to agree to wipe the debt if we handed the car back to them ... funnily they agreed straight away and that was almost £15K gone in one fell swoop ... debt was completely in OH's name but there was something rather gratifying about getting rid of that motor ... it had been a jinx since the day we got it:eek:
I now have a lovely ford focus on motability ... all I have to pay for is the petrol ... all maintenance, repairs, tax and insurance are taken care of for me ... love my betsy boo car!:D:D:D:D
Plan for the weekend (after work tomorrow):
1 Get the three letters printed for MY credit reports
2 Get the postal orders to send with the letters
3 Post the blooming letters
4 Get snooty letter to tax credits office printed and posted off
5 Get SAR's printed for me and OH for Army
6 Photocopy driving licences for me and OH to include with SAR's
7 Post SAR's registered post to Army (lets see if they owe me a pension cos if they do ... they owe me a shed-load of interest;))
8 Re-list all the magazines that didn't sell on ebay and drop price to 99p to try and shift the darned things!
9 Clear desk area and make it easier to work at desk
10 Have a clearout of books and list them on play dot comLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:
