Initial impressions are better than I expected to be honest. I don't look 10 years younger but I never expected to.

I don't have much in the way of wrinkles, just a smattering of fine lines around the eyes and huge purple circles under the eyes. Botox takes care of the vertical lines between my eyes and I have never smoked cigarettes so I don't have many lines around my lips.

I use a mineral foundation but I'm lucky in that my skin is pretty good and I don't need coverage from skin makeup - just a bit of evening out of the colour.

I used the Nanoblur over my usual morning skincare products - a skinceuticals serum + a cheap moisturiser and gave the moisturiser about 10 minutes to sink in.

There are no indications on how much to use so I decided to treat it like a flash balm and applied a very thin layer and let it dry. I think the reviewers reporting caking etc are just using too much. It went on smoothly and easily.

The purple circles disppeared almost completely. I couldn't see any difference in the fine lines which don't show up much under artificial light anyway. I decided to skip the mineral foundation for the day amd just added the usual lip and eye makeup.

Outside under strong daylight the appearance of the fine lines is also better - even with a magnifying mirror they are hard to see. It is the lack of purple circles though that I'm delighted with. Nothing has ever hidden them so well.

So yes first impressions are definitely positive - my skin initially felt a bit tight and dry but I know that under the silicone layer it is actually well mositurised and now a couple of hours later the feeling is wearing off.

    Let's see if it lasts.

Thanks Amanita:) I wonder how its helped the circles then? as I understand it has no colour in it, interesting, could be good for dd who has hereditary circles. I would also be interested to know if you feel greasy towards the end of the day. They dont have it in my local Boots yet I checked this morning:(
Thank you for this site Martin

  • Ok now this was useful to know - apart from the botox (never done it) and the smoking (done it waaaaaay too much :p) Amanita's skin type/issues sound pretty much the same as mine - especially the purple circles which nothing i've tried so far has really dealt with satisfactorily - and after reading your post i am so gonna be buying a tube (although i'll wait until the 27th and put it towards my £50 spend in order to get the points boost. Might be as well to see if i can reserve a tube for that date just in case everyone else is planning the same).

I bought it a few days ago. It did make a bit of difference. Agree with Amanita, it leaves a very dry, smooth feeling. I found it easy to use. Don't know what the reviews were going on about. Although I haven't tried it over full foundation, only on top of tinted moisturiser.
I love primers, but the effect seems to fade quickly. This, going on top of make up, seemed to give a longer 'primed' effect. Subtle, but I could notice it.
It's a thumbs up from me, but I'm not using it every day, as twenty pounds for a tiny tube makes it pricey. I'll keep it for special times.

I put it on too thickly by mistake one morning and yes it was pretty horrid. Definitely works best with a very thin layer so the tube will last for ages.

Not so convinced with it under mineral foundation. The fine lines seemed more obvious but I don't use liquid foundation so can't comment on how it works with that.

I've now settled with just using it over my dark circles if I plan to wear foundation and if going bare faced ( rare!) on the fine lines around my eyes as well.
  • Just wanted to resurrect the thread as I have just bought and tried this.
Okay - so I don't look 10 years younger but my colleagues noticed immediately that my skin looked healthier with less pigmentation.
positives: slight improvement to wrinkles, evens out skintone. Makes the skin feel really soft. You only use a tiny amount.
Negatives: makes my skin feel oily at the end of the day. Seems to make me look paler so I need blusher.

I wear mineral powder and it works well with that, however I have tried it with YSL liquid foundation and Barbara daly concealer and it seems to react with it and looks like my face is cracked! . On a bare face or over moisturiser it is great but my skin is too bad to go without foundation.

I wonder how the rest of you guys are getting on?

  • I bought this about 2 months or so ago. The best way I can describe the effect of it, is to imagine how you would look if a dull light was shining on your face but without the shine. The product reflects light so that the skin looks much smoother - almost like an overexposed photograph. Skin does look a lot paler because of the light reflecting off it, but that is how it works. After applying light blusher, the paleness disappears. I am a real cynic on "wonder" products, but I think this one is great and would buy it again. I only use a small pea-sized amount for the whole face and still get a great effect for hours.

    Update:

Out of the four of us who tried it together:

One sent it back as she was not able to use it with her fave foundation (it seemed to react and looked cracked)
One sent it back as it gave her pimples under the skin.
One is happy with it (she is 45, dry skin, does not wear make up)
Me....well, I liked it but I don't use it every day now as it seemed to block my pores and although I liked the result for evening my skin tone (it didn't magic away my little wrinkles) I have found a similar effect with a BB cream.

So - possibly not something I will buy again, but I've given it to my mum to trial now so maybe she will like it more.
