Hi, My husbands mobile contract is due to end and he is looking for cheaper contract/supplier. Will he pass the credit check if we have just commenced a DMP?
Thanks

I have a DMP. Last year I got a mobile contract for my son under my name, I had to pay £100 up front but this was credited back after 6 months. I think , this is the usual scnario but of course I am not expert on the matter.Don't forget smiling

Ive been on a DMP for 10 years. Its not the DMP that appears on your credit history - its the defaults on the original loans so entirely depends on what the creditors add. it can stop a contract or not dependant on that.
If your already on a contract - renewing with an upgrade isnt an issue. Getting a new contract IS. However, you can try to get the new contract first and only terminate the old if accepted. 3 are the easiest to get a new contract with as they have the least stringent credit checks.
I got turned down for years and had to keep my old contract running, then when those defaults disappeared (after 6 years) I got accepted for a new contract despite still being on a DMP.0
