Cheap furniture shops?

Dear all,
We are moving out of a furnished house into an unfurnished apartment. So we need to buy EVERYTHING. I checked the prices of things online and they are SHOCKING. Looks like I need to spend a fortune to furnish my home
Where should I be looking for cheap furniture?
I live in Bromley, checked out some furniture stores in Hayes (not much stuff available there). Can anyone please suggest where I can find good furniture charity shops?
Thanks,
Tulipz

I second Freecycle. Also, I don't know if you have one locally but near us is a British Heart Foundation furniture shop. Some of it is new so it's not all second hand but some realy bargains to be had.0
