I am a contractor, i get paid through an agency. I advised this on my mortgage application, they rang me to query it, and i explained that i am a long term contractor, i have no fixed contract but i do have a running contract, i have been with my company for 5 years, they were happy with this, didnt ask any other questions, i had to give them my last 2 P60's plus 13 weeks timesheets as i am paid weekly. Best not to lie.. Alot of people are contractors especially in the oil industry which i am.0

Some do, some don't
However, please be honest on your application - we deal with mortgage references letters and we had one guy who rang (several times, getting more & more irate) wanting us to put "permanent" on the letter when he was on a temp contract.
He was asking us to commit fraud and just didn't get it when we said we couldn't do it and could only provide factually correct information - in his case, that he was in a temporary post.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

My mortgage provider did not contact my employer before sending out the formal offer in writing. What I don't know is if they will contact my employer between now and completion, and if so what would trigger them to do so?? I presumed all appropriate checks would be carried out before the offer was sent to me.0

I've not known a lender write to an emplyer in years, and rarely will the main lenders request Bank stats.0
