Do you find wipes don't remove all eye make up?

  • I've tried wipes but I just can't get on with them - they just seem too 'thin' to use properly for me! They don't seem thick enough to really get in to my eyes/lashes to get make up off, if you see what I mean! I always use a cotton wool pad with Clinique's Take the Day off lotion, recently I tried Kleenex eye make up remover wipes and they really really dried the skin under my eyes out - never again! I can't use Boots/The Body Shop Vitamin E (both Vitamin E) wipes also - they both left horrible dry patches on my face - not nice! I'm sticking with Boots No 7/Liz Earl hot cloth cleansers.
  • boots essentials cucumber wipes here and they are fab!

i like my eyes really dark and use liquid or gel eyeliner and black or dark grey eyeshadows and they get is all off no problem along with the rest of my make up in just 1 wipe. i buy them on offer and its about a quid for a packet. ive tried babywipes but dont find they work well on the eyeliner.
  • Yep I like wipes too (basic), but for stubborn stuff I used to smear a little vaseline (other brands blah blah) overthe eye lids and then wipe off with loo roll - worked every time.
Don't bother these days, when we moved a few months back I chucked out all my make up when I realised how old it was (don't ask - hehe).

It depends on the mascara & wipes though I prefer massaging a cleansing oil before washing it off, always works a treat. In my experience oils tend to be gentler to the delicate eye area than wipes.

Glowgirl what do you use? I like wipes for ease. I did try Liz Earle once but found the cloths a faff.

I use Boots essentials, the cucumber products although the plain ones are just as good, I use cream cleanser and remove with tissues (this removes even stubborn mascaras and I find it less irritating than oil based removers), then toner with cotton wool, then eye gel, then moisturiser from the bottle not the jar, its too rich for me. They also make an eye make up remover gel which I don't really need but have and like a lot anyway. The products are very cheap anyway (under £2 each) and nearly always on 3 for 2 or similar, dd recently ran out of wipes and used this method and loved it too, she is 16, so I think its pretty good all round, it sounds a lot to do but shouldn't take long once your used to it and the payoff should be worth it:)
