Help, Im a sizzix virgin:o
My friend has kindly let me borrow her sizzix machine (its not a roller one, its got an arm that you bring over and press down) and i wanted to buy a couple of dies for it. Im hoping to make some tags for the school Christmas fair, and also want a round die to try and make this..

Can anyone help, im totally bamboozled by the choice on ebay. My friend has given me some help, but im still unclear, and dont want to keep bothering her with links to ebay sales and a note 'would this one fit' again:o
The dies she has lent me are quite thick, but some on ebay look thinner (sizzlets?) could I use one of these on here and build the thickness up with a block of wood or something?
Are there other dies that would be compatible with the press?
Any help gratefully received!
Thank you.

Does it have white plates with it? These are what you use to alter cutting, any sizzix dies will work, you can just use extra card and cut a few out at a time
Other dies may need more plates or a converterThrifty Gifty Money Making =£280 Sealed pot challenge 1192 Toluna = 77339 Bingoport = £10 redeemed + 33470 -
you need the original sizzix dies, they are usually green (small) yellow (medium) and red (large). the ones called bigz will not fit. the sizzlets will work but you need the adapter which is magnetic and sticks on under the bit where the handle is. i used to have one of these but have the bigshot now.
have a look here

Thanks for the replies, yes the ones she has lent me are red, so they must be the large ones. It has a block that goes on the bottom, then I put the card on that, then die ontop on that (facing down). There is only one block, so I would need another block to use the sizzlets, does it have to be a 'special' block, or could I use anything flat to build it up to the right height?
The dies are very expensive!
The machines are even more expensive, so I dont want to break it either, as she has trusted me with it:o0 -
i only ever used the adapter but i guess you could build it up though, it would need to be about a cm or so thick though. the dies are expensive so i only buy ones that i know i will use a lot, like frames or shapes and flowers and the cuttlebug embossing folders are a good buy. now you know what you are looking for though keep your eye on ebay, you can pick up some bargains0
