Sainsburys-brand match - confused???

Hello

Ive bought today 2 boxes of pregnacare breastfeeding tablets, £15.27 each
and 1 box of pregnacare plus £14.50
Total of 3 products £45.05 Buy 2 get cheapest 1 free
Total = £30.54

They gave me a voucher for 83p

They do NOT sell the pregnacare breastfeeding tabs in either asda or tescos.

They DO sell the pregnacare plus.

Its the same offer AND price in Tesco buy 2 get cheapest 1 free at £14.50 each so thats £43.50 then £29.00 after the offer.

They do NOT have the same offer in asda they have the pregnacare plus at £9.00 per box.

So im struggling to understand why they have gave me a voucher for 83p.

Any help?
Thanks

Not an answer but a question. What are breastfeeding tablets meant to do?

I believe Sainsbury's are refunding the difference if you could have bought the product at either stores cheaper.

breastfeeding tabs are just some tabs full of nutrients and vitamins for women that are breastfeeding... and the preg plus are for pre-birth.

yes i know the refund the difference, but the figures do not add up. plus they dont sell the one product at the other stores...

ill ring if i get a minute tommorow........

    the pregnacare plus accounts for ( 14.50 / 45.05 ) = 32.18% of the pre-discount transaction . 32.18% of the after-discount total is ( 30.54 *0.3218 ) = £9.83. So the pregnacare plus effectively cost you this amount

and you didnt get the discount on the tesco price because you would have had to buy 3 packs of the pregnacare plus to qualify for the Tesco promo - but you only bought one
