26" LCD TV for under £600

I've just ordered what I think is a real bargain.

A 26" LCD TV for £593 delivered from Misco.

Made by Acer, the third biggest computer manufacturer in the world. Famous for their monitors - but this is definitely a TV!

I got it for £573 with 2.5% cashback from Rpoints and 1% on my Cap One Circle Card!

Nice I was looking at this yestedray (Wed) as I got an email from Maplins. They wree giving £50 off with voucher to £629.99 but you can get it cheaper. I dont mind paying a little more as Maplin are very good on support. Still its over £30 more than Misco

Let me know what you think of it. I been wanting a LCD for ages, due to having a small hosue and TV is an old 4.3 28" panasonic.

I missed out in Jan on the Aldi LCD which was 28" and was a little more than this.

I got some HDTV DVDs and would love to see them on a big screen :)

O.K. I may live to regret this but my local Sainsbury have a special deal; 26" sonix lcd for £499 at the moment.

It may not be as good as the 1 your talking about but the display model looked good to me.

The guys at av forums seem favourably impressed too
    Hope that helps.

I am jealous. I am trying to find out more info about the sonix one which Sainsburys may have. If I can get one I get some staff discount.36_1_9.gif

I cant vouch for the visual qaulity on this but it is HDTV ready :) and has HDCP which means you will be able to show encrypted HDTV $ky channels when they release it in 2006. A very good deal it is too.

The sonix does not have HDCP so wont be able to show the sky hdtv chans next year.

Well, got it working and I'm pleased to tell you I am one happy bunny! :o)

Manual's a bit on the thin side, but the picture's great - good brightness and contrast. Well worth the dosh IMHO.

Now, if I could get a decent freeview reception to go with it, I'd be laughing...
