This is currently being looked into, if you have 65535 PMs in your inbox please try:
1. select a read pm from your inbox,
2. perform an unread command/action on it (mark as unread).
This should rebuild your PM counter correcting the issue, and new code tweaks we have implemented should prevent you from getting that number again.
