Can I extend my mortgage life beyond 65

I have bought my house with my son. I am 55 and he is 31. We have 11 years left on the mortgage. We have just come out of a two year fixed mortgage and are looking for another deal. I have had to take a pay cut at work and would like to reduce the monthly payment. Are there any mortgage lenders who would extend the length of the mortgage from 11 years to 15 years?

Most will go to 70, some 75, some longer, although they will normally need to see proof of pension income if you go beyond your stated retirement age.
I assume the mortgage will be dependent on your income from the lenders afordability?I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
