Gap year loans??

Looking at the news today I am not even sure RBS will be there when he comes back.

if they didnt pay the top players at rbs the bonuses then they probably wouldnt be in this mess.0 -
Well, perhaps the OP would like to give a few more details.
How old are they?
How long have they worked?
What other credit do they have?
If this is someone who has worked for a long time why are there no savings to fund this?
If they have been there a short time and are "stressed" already then maybe that job is not for them.
Either way I don't believe any job can be guaranteed in the current economic climate, more so with a bank and certainly not with RBS who appear to be on shaky ground.
If they don't have savings at the moment how would they manage the extra expense of a loan?
How do they intend making payments while they are away?
If they are such a valued member of staff that the bank is prepared to hold their job why won't the bank offer a deferred loan?
Do the bank want to employ someone who feels they need a year off for stress?0 -

I think you'll find the OP can't afford it eitherSpace available for rent0 -
Can i just ask OP, you say its only for a few months but what if after the few months you cant bring yourself to come back due to the amount of "stress" you would face.0

If you work for RBS, and they have permitted you a sabattical for a period of time where you know you can return, then why not talk to your employer? You must get beneficial rates on loans, and maybe the option may be available to defer payments for 6 months or so, allowing you time to do a bit of travelling.
Just make sure you get it in writing that you will be able to return to your old poditon at the company beforehand. However, with long service many large employers will allow an extended period of time off from work, unpaid, if it is for a genuine purpose (i.e not going to work for a competitor), and can return to your job afterwards.
Ignore the sarcastic remarks. It probably just jealousy that they want to take time off yet cant afford to. I hope you find a way of going travelling and that you return to work feeling refreshed and motivated.
The OP is asking for a loan to go travelling, does that not show that THEY can't afford it ? I could afford to take as long as i like off, and my employer would give me unpaid leave, but in this climate, i would seriously worry about whether i would have a job when i came back. A lot can happen in a few months in the banking industry.
If the OP is stressed, maybe they should look for a different job ?
On another note, i've never heard of "Gap Year Loans" has anyone else ?0 -

They are. But if you are not happy with any part of the service, you may wish to use my sister company, "Icanreclaimmissoldloansprobablyifyougivemeafewhundredquid.com".
I view the whole operation as a kind of circle of life.0 -
As the irony of an employee of a bank not knowing the first thing about where to go for a loan seems to have been lost on the OP, I might suggest s/he contacts his/her employer, as they may offer preferential deals for staff...0

Am I being cynical or does anyone else think CrazyAngel is the OP posting under a different name to justify this madness?0
