Well they came back to me this afternoon and said they'd need me to supply an income and expenditure list, but I stopped the guy and quote the words from the Council of Mortgage Lenders after which he said he'd need to check and get back to me, he phoned me back half an hour later and confirmed that they'd be writing off the debt, he checked with their legal department and as they hadn't contacted me in regards to this for over ten years they were in agreement to drop it now.
I do believe this kicked off because of a success of a ppi complaint which will settle a loan that was defaulted on at the same time as the mortgage, at no time since I returned my keys did I ever get any letters, documents, notice of court action, auction, sale or anything about the property, all I had was contact in relation to the loan which is being paid off as we speak and when the ppi complaint pays out will clear the loan, but they can't touch it for the mortgage.
I can now sleep tonight as I didn't sleep last night because of this, worried sick.

Just to add, I have been paying off the loan for the past 8 years and I've been at the same address for over 10 years as well.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Make sure that you get confirmation of this in writing.

Yeah i've asked the guy I spoke to if this would happen and he said it should, but I have his name and number and as they kept telling me that all the calls are recorded I noted the time of each call too. He also said he had written the comments on my notes in the system, he was even able to tell me alot about my ppi complaints too and how much money i'd be due back and it's just waiting on my acceptance letters being put in the system.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
