Wedding Dress

So i just happened to be on ebay looking at wedding dresses, trying to find one for halloween, when I came across a picture and thought i know that bedroom that it was taken in.....turns out its where i got my wedding dress from few months ago. Had a look at her feedback and it seems all the dresses they were selling were from here and not from 'her friends mum store which was closing down' although i cant see my dress on here(can only go back 30 days) i did see the other one i tried on which they had bought for £44 and selling to me for £250!!

I know my dress was 'sample' dress and was completley fine with that but now im wondering if maybe someone has worn this dress/how much they got my dress for/if its real etc. I have never managed to find an image of my dress online and its an alfred angelo one but i heard inside the dress it should have product number, mines doesnt have one so im wondering if the name has just been sewn on. I wasnt planning on keeping my dress but not wanting to forward on a fake. I just feel a little let down and wish they were just honest from the start and said it was from ebay and could possibly be a fake.

You could phone trading standards and ask them, however are you happy with the dress? If so, I'd maybe go with it still and when you sell it on just state the label inside reads 'xyz' but it doesn't have a product code.

I would say though, how do you know the dresses aren't from 'her mums store closing down' and they are just selling them on ebay? might be a long shot, and i might be trying to make you feel better, but is it a possibility?
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

What is the quality of the stitching like? Is it comparable to the originals you have seen in the shops?

Is it possible to email someone from ebay selling the same dress and ask them if it has the label inside? If it does and yours doesn't, this might be a bit more telling. If theirs doesn't have a label either then you might feel a bit better.

Another option would be to email her and say that you took it to a dressmaker to get adjusted and they told you it was a fake. Tell her you want a refund or you'll report her to XXX (whoever it is that you report to for selling fakes).
  • Some bridal shops do cut labels out so its more difficult for you to track down and get for a better price. My dress was from a sample sale from a bridal shop and it has no labels in, but I can tell from looking at it that its well made, and not a copy. So yours may have come from a shop that works in a similar way.

As long as you love it I would just put it down to experience and wear it and be happy and not even think about it on your wedding day.
