I don't think there would be any problem with that, you'll not asking for money for it. I'd put it up with clear details of the fault and I imagine someone will happily come and collect it from you.Piglet

i have used freecycle to give things away and also was lucky and got 2 things to collect but the last time i gave i was not happy i listed 6 baby items and got loads of email did not look at any who did not say please or thank you or who asked for all of them or who sent moblie numbers so i offered 2 of the things to one lady who was fine and said she would collect later that day she did ring as the weather was bad and say could she collect the next day so i said i would drop then off as she was not far so called and no one was in she rang and said she would be in later the next day so again i called and no one was in again at that i thought i had done enough so forget it and emailed the next person which was fine then had a phone call from the the first lady who was very rude when said i had done enough to get the items to her so i will not go out of myway again for anyone0

can I ask - what's wrong with people who put mobile numbers on their asks?
I always do so that they could send a text if they want - makes it easier - I'm not permanently in front of the computer!
Freecycle is the best thing that's ever happened to me!!
I given away so much stuff and recieved some brilliant things (eg ice cream maker last month) I've had my share of no-shows etc but I try to cut some slack for instance the last thing I gave away, I told the bloke -you can have it come at X, and I put a taken post on the website - the bloke was a newbie and saw the "taken" and assumed I'd given the thing to someone else! Sorted it out and it was ok!Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
the cost of ringing moblies is so much higher than landlines thats why
i do think freecycle is great it helped me when money was tight and i give when i can because i hate waste and like to think i have helped people but some on my site ask all the time for things that are a lot like laptops and cars and i think that is too far0 -

We just gave away some fish from our pond to Robin Hill country park via freecycle. The guys spent about an hour and a half collecting the fish, chatting to my kids all the way and they had a good break from work and my kids had a great time watching proceedings. Lovely morning. We've had our ups and downs but overall I love it. We often end up giving or getting things from friends which I think is particularly nice, but one time my hubby had to decide between giving something to his boss or two friends which was a really hard choice.0

Hi all,
I have used our local freecycle for some time now and have given away loads of I have to say quality items - which I don't mind doing as I needed to clear out.
However, a friend of mine registered on freecycle 6 months ago and has had constant problems trying to post. What ever he tries to post it's constanly awaiting 'moderation' after emailing them a few times he's fobbed of with he didn't put the correct format - they are strict about Offer : Item : postcode. Its just silly to be truthful. He has just removed himself from the group which is a shame for every person who may have wanted something from him all because of a silly rule?
Also the group seem to be very snotty when rules are broken, one min they want you to post a received and then they tell you off for doing so? With a constant don't post a wanted more than once a month and only after an offer, although some people do - seems its one rule for some (friends perhaps?) and another for others.
Anyhow now I have had my rant LOL, I was wondering if anyone knows of any other places similar to freecycle that might be worth a look at, I feel bad for my friend and a couple of other people I have seen treated badly I feel I no longer wish to be part if that group myself even.
Freecycle is a great idea, a shame the moderators of some groups seem to be on a power trip.0 -
I too am a fan of freecycle, but I can't understand how some people receive things!
I posted an offer this afternoon and so far have had 15 responses ranging from polite responses to 'where u live an will !!! get'
It is temping to offer to the first person who responds but much better to wait - manners costs nothing!!Good Enough Club Member No 390 -
I don't know where Freecycle questions are normally posted. Mods, please feel free to relocate this.
Can one have multiple Freecycle accounts?
I am getting cheesed off with the rule about only two 'wanted' ads per month. I offer lots of stuff and it seems to me this is becoming an unfair situation.
Rather than quit the site, it seems to me that the only other tactic I can use is to have a second account.
Would be grateful for any comments.0
