Least terrible short term loan provider?
Hello all.
I need a short term (like 2 weeks) loan, of around £500.
I am well aware these are always terrible deals, but needs must, and the fee will be less than if i go over drawn and have to pay bank charges.
My bank is unlikely to extend my overdraft (its not large but i went overdrawn last month by mistake) and i will have enough money coming in by the end of the month to pay off any loan and be back on track.
That explained, which company is the least awful?
I need one that will pay simply and take repayment simply without trying to extend (hence rack up charges) the offer or have any terrible hidden terms etc.
I have never looked into this before because i know they are bad deals, but as mentioned its the best option here.
All help appreciated

All payday loans are much of a much, they can work as long as you make sure you pay it back on time, and in TOTAL.
So many people don't though, then they come on here whining about circumstances and other hogwash and then they actually start to blame the companies themselves.
As these are SHORT TERM loans, the huge interest rates can be pretty much ignored. No idea if they would lend you a monkey on your first go though.
Good luck."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Thanks for the reply.
Yes i know how people end up getting screwed over by these, i am 100% sure i can pay back in full when due with plenty of change spare, its just cashflow (largeish job got cancelled after i had turned down other work).
My concern was stories i have heard of people attempting to pay on time only to have the dd get 'canceled' and other bulls**t in order to force late payment fees.
There must be a 'best amongst a bad bunch' payday loan company.
Anyone have any experience with wonga (apart from late payments etc as i will NOT have to worry about that)? They seem expensive but pretty open and straight forward.0 -
I would say Wonga are the "reputable" end of the shittty payday loan stick....some of them have wonderful names and some people collect the set as I used to collect football stickers."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

I suppose the good thing about WONGA is can can borrow from 1 day to 30 days and the interest is calculated accordingly. All the other payday lenders charge between 20% - 30% on the capital, no matter how many days up to a month that you borrow for.0 -
If you do go down this road sometimes Wonga have an offer with Quidco which might soften the interest blow a bit.Space available for rent0

Well it looks like this is still going to be more hassle than its worth, so i guess im just going to have to get on the phone and chase some invoices, and perhaps cancel the council tax dd this month, probably a whole lot easier in the long run.0
