Laptop Battery?

My daughter's Toshiba laptop needs a new battery, I was told to look on ebay but although I can find the model number the part number and voltage are wrong. As you can probably gather I'm not very technically minded so can anyone help? I either need to know whether a part no. starting in PA will fit or is there somewhere in the UK that stocks batteries for discontinued models?
The Model No. is L500-1DT and the Part No. is PSLSOE-01L01DEN.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

All I did was type into google the full make and model of laptop / battery and it gave me numerous sites to look at,

There is quite a difference in the price of a branded /non branded one and I purchased the branded one as it went into an expensive laptop so didnt want the risk of a cheaper option.

Come on, crazyguy. This is the second time today that you have just posted an unsuitable website in reply to a specific question.

Yes they can put their laptop model number into the search function of that website, but the resulting generic battery shown is more expensive than the original.

In addition, since you are recommending the purchasing of an original battery, why are you linking to a solution that supplies a 'generic' battery to the OP.

People who post here are often unsure of themselves and deserve more than a 'slapdash' Googled website as a reply.

Go on Ebay. Look for powercell-uk who are based in Nottingham. I've used them a lot and never had any trouble and they are happy for you to collect in person so they are a UK seller with UK stock, not a UK address with the batteries being sent from China. I bought a battery this last Friday morning and it was in my hands on Saturday.

Still the same Chinese made generics though.

Though certainly an advantage to be dealing with a UK based stockist. Certainly worth a look if not bothered about going for a branded item or if you are looking for an 'extended' battery.

Had them added to my eBay Sellers list anyway.

Bought Toshiba Satellite Pro copy battery from laptopbattery4u.
By about 9 months battery charge was only lasting about an hour.
By 11 months down to a few minutes.
Due to manic work and life commitments didn't remember to contact laptopbattery4u until a few days (literally) after warranty expired.
They will not honour their warranty.

I should have paid for an OEM battery, even if it would have been twice the price or more. Our work IT does this, and batteries always last 2-3 years.

My opinion? Avoid laptopbattery4u.
