morning all
i have just had my beautiful multifuel stove fitted, and was wondering which is more economic to burn with the wood coal or peat? Has anone got any opinions n which burns hottest or longest? Which is more economical? Hope you are all ok

In terms of economy, it really depends on where you get your peat. If you have the ability and equipment to cut it yourself, then it's cheaper to do so, but if you either have to buy it in or pay people to cut,turn and take it home for you, then it isn't cheaper at all, given how much more you need compared to coal.
The heat given off is usually much greater with coal, although very dark peat can give off decent amounts of heat (machine cut peat tends to burn hotter that hand cut for some reason). However, peat burns very quickly and produces masses of ash.0
